A brief update on the Whitmore's

I have had a few people suggest I give a general update on our lives. We've had a few changes in the last few months and are very shortly expecting our next kiddo to arrive.

In mid-April we made a 'major' move from Queen Anne Hill to Downtown Ballard. We traveled all of about 3 miles to our new location and have never been so excited about where we are living. We are just a few blocks off the main drag of Ballard (Market Street) which makes walking to just about everything (besides Costco) very easy. We moved from a duplex that had some serious structural issues and smokers downstairs to a brand new Condo building just recently converted to apartments. We gained a few square feet but ultimately it has allowed for Caleb to have a much more usable office space.

Caleb left POP last January and has been running his own company, Analytics Pros, out of our home and while we have been on the road. He is loving being back into an entrepreneurial venture. I am currently writing this post from San Jose where we are at an Emetrics conference that Caleb spent two days speaking at. Actually, to be fair, Caleb is currently speaking right now. Since I don't fully comprehend the analytics speak I am sitting in the back of the room craigslisting things and now writing this post :) Check out http://www.analyticspros.com/ for his info.

EthnieMay is growing soo fast. We took her in for her 9 month check and she is just huge. She was about 20lbs and 31inches long which puts her in the 90th percentile and 80th percentile receptively. No little baby anymore :) On Tuesday April 21st she crawled forward for the first time! She had been crawling backward for a few months without flaw and I called her 'my little blessing' as she always went the opposite way for which she was trying to go. Think: Baby sees tasty cord and light socket and then proceeds to move the opposite direction (I do admit, causing great frustration).

But all ended on the 21st when she saw a Binky (pacifier) under my dresser in our bedroom and she proceeded to crawl across the room to get it. She put the pacifier in her mouth, laid down on her back and gave me an evil eye of 'this is mine, you take it and there will be trouble.' I was too astonished to do anything! Now she has discovered all kinds of new excitement and we have taken to try to baby proof all we can. She is able to pull herself up on toilet's in order to look and I do admit, play inside; she can grab a trash can and then apply the can over her head in order to empty its tasty contents on top of herself; and most recently has discovered that she can chase the dogs at my parents house which gives her a much better chance of getting to taste them as well. It has become a very busy household of look, chasing and then ultimately tasting and biting lots of inadimate and live objects.

I am 33 weeks pregnant and greatly looking forward to the birth of our son! My belly seems to grow daily and the weather appears to only be getting warmer which makes for an extremely warm pregnant person. I have started teaching Bradley Birthing Classes out of our home and am starting to lead a bible study out of our home beginning next week. There is much organizing and nesting to be done before Zeb arrives and I look forward to feeling much more 'ready' in the next 3 weeks. My plan is to have my 'list' completed by 36 weeks of pregnancy just in case he follows in his big sister's footsteps and comes a little early.

So that is the Whitmore Update for now, more to come when Zeb is a bit closer to his arrival. Now for pictures...Acacia took these about a week ago at the Arboretum in Seattle - check out her awesome photography
